On January 6–7, 2026, a National Forum dedicated to modernizing English teacher education was held in Tashkent. The event was organized in cooperation with the British Council, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
The forum was conducted within the framework of the British Council’s AELLCA program, aimed at developing English language education in Central Asia. It brought together 220 participants representing more than 55 public and private higher education institutions from all regions of the country that train English language teachers.
Profi University was actively represented by the Head of the Department of English Language and Literature, Nargiza Akhmedova, as well as department lecturers D. Sandibayeva and D. Khadjimetova, who shared their views and proposals during the discussions.
The forum focused on modernizing the PRESETT system for training future English teachers, improving curricula and modules based on modern pedagogical approaches, and integrating reflective and inclusive education principles into the teaching and learning process.
